M. Harvey obtained a degree in Psychology from the University of Bielefeld (Germany), followed by a PhD in Visual Neuropsychology from St. Andrews University (UK). She was then appointed by the University of Bristol as Lecturer and later Senior Lecturer. Her research interests fall in the area of cognitive neuroscience of visual perception, especially in the relative contribution of the two main visual streams (dorsal and ventral) towards perception and action. Her particular interests are in the syndrome of hemispatial neglect.
