Glasgow University Tech Society (GUTS)

The Glasgow University Tech Society is an an active student-led association of Computing Science and Software Engineering students that aims to bring together students from all years of study and different backgrounds in order to offer them the means to share their passion for technology.

GUTS hosts several events such as Tech Talks, where students have the chance to hear from and have a conversation with people from academia and local industry about new technologies and technological processes, and organises yearly events such as the hackathon, where over 100 students are expected to compete from universities across Scotland.

Representing the interests of all its members and being aware of the power of networking, GUTS hosts bimonthly social events where students meet up to discuss common interests, grow their network of contacts and improve their interpersonal skills.   GUTS prides itself on being creative and open to suggestions, and endeavours to hold a variety of events that are tailored to the different contexts that arise throughout the academic year.

One charity event is hosted in each semester from which all the donations are directed to technology-related charities.
