Dr Minnis is a Senior Lecturer in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Her research focus has been on Reactive Attachment Disorder: clinical aspects, assessment tools and behavioural genetics. She is now conducting intervention research for maltreated children including a randomised controlled trial of an infant mental health service for young children in foster care and research into the differentiation between autism and reactive attachment disorder.
Dr Minnis’ academic training came from a Wellcome Training Fellowship hosted by the Institute of Psychiatry and University of Glasgow. She studied epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She has since developed a number of active international collaborations particularly with colleagues in the USA and Scandinavia.
