Biography

Elise obtained a BSc in Mathematics from University of Newcastle upon Tyne, followed by a PhD in Number Theory from University of Exeter, and an MSc in Medical Statistics from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She joined the Social and Public Health Sciences Unit as a Statistical Epidemiologist in 2011, working on the West of Scotland Twenty-07 Study, having worked previously at the Cancer Research UK Cancer Epidemiology Unit, University of Oxford and the Department of Social Medicine, University of Bristol. She is a member of the Measurement and Analysis of Socio-economic inequalities in Health program. Her main research interests are the understanding and determinants of successful ageing across the lifecourse, with particular emphasis on inequalities.

Research interests
