Part of the Institute of Health and Wellbeing and College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, the centre is recognised internationally as a centre of excellence due to
- contributions to medical research through work on major international multi-centre clinical trials, epidemiological studies and other research projects.
- excellent relations with medical and biological researchers in the pharmaceutical industry, the Health Service and other research organisations.
The Centre conducts and supports collaborative research in all areas of medicine and has particular expertise in the design, implementation, analysis and interpretation of clinical trials and epidemiological studies and in the development of novel informatics technologies to support their conduct.
Centre staff have expertise in Biostatistics, Data Processing and Management, Software Development and Project Management and Development.
The Robertson Centre is a key component of NIHR CRN (National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network) fully registered Glasgow Clinical Trials Unit and has significant experience of joint working with colleagues in academia, the NHS and the pharmaceutical industry in the West of Scotland, across the UK and internationally.

The Director of the Centre is Professor Ian Ford and he is supported by Liz Anderson (Director of Projects Administration) and Sharon Kean (Director of Information Systems). This group forms the executive management team for the Centre.
