'Seeing Voices'

Published: 13 July 2004

A performance told through dance, British Sign Language, verse, music and sound.

From 15 - 17 July, Gilmorehill G12, at the University of Glasgow, will be hosting 'Seeing Voices', a production presented by Solar Bear and directed by Deborah Andrews.

Due to the consultation with the Centre for Sensory Impaired People throughout the development of the performance, the 'powerful story of love and lust, jealousy and revenge, forgiveness and redemption', will be performed using an integrated aesthetic that aims to be fully accessible. This aesthetic will include an exciting ensemble of dance, British Sign Language, verse, music and sound, ensuring something appeals to everyone.

Before the show, the sensory experience will start with a Touch Tour at 7pm involving an exploration of the set through touch, allowing the visually impaired to appreciate the layout of the performance before it begins.

There will also be an informal discussion after Friday's show, which will allow the audience to give feedback on their experience. (All introductions and discussions will be Sign Language interpreted.)

Tickets cost £8 (£4 concessions)
The Touch Tour is ticketed although free of charge. Please indicate your interest when booking for the performance,
