Sir Graeme Davies to receive honorary degree in June

Former Principal honoured by University of Glasgow

The University of Glasgow will confer the honorary degree of Doctor of the University on former Principal, Sir Graeme Davies, at this year's Commemoration Day in June.

Sir Graeme retired on 30 September 2003 after his eight year term of office in Glasgow and was subsequently appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of London.

Sir Muir Russell, Principal of the University of Glasgow, commented: "Over his eight years in office, Sir Graeme led the University on a path that has enhanced its international reputation in research and teaching. This honour acknowledges the distinguished contribution that he made during his time here as well as the invaluable leadership he has given to Higher Education in the UK over many years".
