This new documentary, premiered on US PBS in September 2014, provides a detailed overview of the extraordinary life of James McNeill Whistler (1834—1903), painter, printmaker, designer, writer, and celebrity. Two Academy Award winning actors lead the journey: Kevin Kline provides the voice of Whistler, and Anjelica Huston is the film’s narrator. The documentary features nearly 200 works of art and historic photographs, sophisticated re-creations, 3-D animations and layered builds of the artist’s great works and expert commentary from a range of international experts.

This recent film provides rare insight into architects and their sketchbooks. Architects from a series of leading Irish practices speak with passion about the role sketching plays in their creative process, as sources of inspiration, means of communication, and means of resolution. Featured architects include Michael Doherty; Grafton Architects; McCullough Melvin Architects; O’Donnell + Tuomey; Shane O’Toole; Tom de Paor; and Nigel Peake. This will be the film’s first British screening.
