Approximately one in four trans individuals have experienced homelessness, a rate significantly higher than the general population.

This staggering statistic provides the backdrop for a new exhibition that raises awareness of trans homelessness and health, offering a glimpse into the challenges faced by trans individuals.

Titled 'Illustrating Significance in Transitory Times', this exhibition displays illustrations of significant objects that have shaped the journeys of trans homeless people, delivering a unique perspective on the intersection of trans identity, homelessness, and its impact on health.

Organised by the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence, the exhibition will be hosted in the main foyer at the Advanced Research Centre (University of Glasgow) from 9 - 12 April.

This exhibition is the visual component of the PhD research conducted by Steph Busby (Hull York Medical School) in collaboration with trans activist and artist Berwyn Mure (@b_mure). Steph will be in attendance on Tuesday, 9 April, to answer any questions on the work, which showcases how health, being trans, and experiencing homelessness are interconnected.

More information on the exhibition, previously in London, Manchester and Hull, can be found here: https://www.hyms.ac.uk/research/stories/art-exhibition-sheds-light-on-trans-homelessness.
