Short Description

A practical, non-school placement intended to provide students with the opportunity to explore the application of some of the issues concerning ethics and the application of beliefs of any origin in the workplace.

Students will be required to write a report on their placement which reflects the philosophical, theological and/or ethical issues raised in the workplace, and also to explore possible responses.

Students will be required to write a report on their placement which reflects the philosophical, theological and/or ethical issues raised in the workplace, and also to explore possible responses.
The issues should be clearly identified; as should possible responses.

Appropriate academic journals, articles and books should be accessed, and must be cited in support of analysis of the issues and possible responses.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course students will be able to:

■ Identify, analyse and reflect on ethical issues raised in the context of the workplace.

■ Identify and explore possible responses to moral challenges

■ Use appropriate academic journals, articles and books, and cite these in support of analysis of the issues and possible responses.

Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits

Minimum of Grade D3 required.
