Congratulations to Abinav Sinha (PhD) who has achieved the Study UK Alumni Award for Science and Sustainability (2023). Abhinav Sinha achieved an MRes and a PhD in Infection and Immunity from UofG and works as a Senior Scientist at the National Institute of Malaria Research. He is also a finalist in the science and sustainability award in India and is currently leading a national project, the findings of which will help sharpen malaria elimination strategies in India. 

Congratulations to UofG alumni, Noura AlOtaibi (PhD), Nidhi Krishna (MSc, Med Sci), and Jeemon Panniyammakal (PhD) who have been announced as finalists of the Study UK Alumni Awards in the USA, India and Saudi Arabia 2023!  

Jeemon Panniyammakal graduated from the UofG with a PhD in Medical Cardiology and has gone on to become a leading expert in cardiovascular disease epidemiology. He is a finalist in the science and sustainability award in India for his significant contributions to primary care for preventing and controlling cardiovascular disease and diabetes in India.

Noura AlOtaibi became an assistant professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at King Saud University after graduating with a PhD in Dentistry Clinical Studies. She is a finalist for a science and sustainability award in Saudi Arabia for her work as maxillofacial surgeon, she realised that she needed innovations to help her patients and successfully designed a new cost-effective implant using advanced surgical technologies.

Nidhi Krishna graduated with a MSc in Human Nutrition and now works as an epidemiologist at the centre for disease and control prevention foundation. She is a finalist for a social action award in the USA for her work developing a Diabetes Community Lifestyle Improvement Programme for Obesity Reduction & Awareness.
