Parents' Information Events

We recognise that the decision about which University to attend is very important for students – and that it’s of great significance to their parents/guardians also.  That’s why we’ve designed our Parents’ Information Events specifically for the parents/guardians of Glasgow applicants, or potential applicants – although everyone is welcome to attend.

The University hosts our Parents’ Information Events at a range of venues across the UK during February and March each year. Dates for our 2014 events will be published in due course.

Why come to a Parents’ Information Event?

Glasgow is ranked in the UK top 20 in all of the major University league tables and in the UK top 10 for graduate employment and graduate salaries.  A Parents’ Information Event is a great opportunity to find out about the University and what we offer our students.  For anyone who isn’t familiar with the Scottish Education system, it also provides an overview of what makes a degree from one of the UK and Scotland’s top institutions attractive to employers across the globe.

We’ll also provide some information about the UCAS application cycle to help parents get to grips with all of the important dates and deadlines.

What does a Parents’ Information Event involve?

Each event will include a 30 minute presentation (with a question and answer session) plus the chance to speak informally to a range of Glasgow staff and students over refreshments.  Representatives will be there who can answer questions about Admissions, the degree structure, Careers, Financial Support, Accommodation, Study Abroad options, Student Life, the city of Glasgow and more.  We’ll also provide hard copy information for you to take away.
