TAG Theatre Company was established in 1967 and is Scotland's oldest touring theatre company. TAG was originally developed as the outreach arm of the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow, and was known as the Citizens Theatre for Youth. The company changed its name in the 1970s and became TAG, an acronym for Theatre About Glasgow. Although separately funded and artistically autonomous from the Citizens Theatre, TAG continues to have a close and supportive relationship with the company, and shares the same Board of Directors.
