The Problem of Evil and Suffering
Wednesday 8 December, 1:30-2:30pm
This live talk, with Q&A, will investigate one of the most powerful challenges to the existence or nature of God as conceived within monotheistic religions: the presence of evil and suffering in the world. Reference will be made to the same topic on the RMPS Highers specification, including the theodicy of John Hick. Other approaches from the philosophy of religion will also be considered. Our focus will be on how students can demonstrate knowledge, understanding, analysis, and evaluation in their assessed work on this topic.
