This animal has a sub-mandibular oedema or 'bottle jaw' caused by accumulation of fluid in the dependent part of the head - palpation of the swelling would reveal a soft and fluid consistency that quickly returns to it's original shape after being deformed. Also check for brisket oedema (although this is less common than bottle jaw).
