Tracking Loach: The Angels’ Share from Inception to Reception

Archibald and LavertyDavid Archibald recently undertook a research project which tracked the latest feature film directed by Ken Loach. The film began production in Scotland in April 2011 and was released in 2012. David was granted privileged access by the filmmakers to oversee all aspects of the film’s journey from inception to reception, including finalising the script, casting, scouting locations, rehearsals, shooting, editing, marketing and distribution. This research provides a unique opportunity to view, from the inside, the work one of Britain’s most acclaimed filmmakers as he directs his fifth feature film in Scotland.
