You don’t have to do an Access course with the Centre for Open Studies or SWAP to gain entry to the University of Glasgow; you can apply direct from College and be admitted on the basis of your Higher National qualification.

We welcome applications based on a wide range of qualifications including Highers, A-Levels, Baccalaureates, HNC and HNDs. If you have a HNC or D, we will usually ask you to attend our Summer School as a condition of any offer we may make you.  This helps you prepare for University study, familiarises you with campus facilities plus introduces you to staff and fellow prospective students.  All these benefits combine to support your successful transition to University.

Admission contacts are listed by subject in our Undergraduate Prospectus or you can contact us if you have any specific queries.

The majority of our college entrants start their undergraduate degree in Year 1 however for a limited range of degrees and subject to very specific grade requirements in your Higher National qualification, you may have the option of progressing direct into Year 2, a process called “articulation". The number and range of articulation routes will vary by University so it’s best to investigate your options early on.
