A short history of printmaking in the West
This course offers a short history of printmaking in the West, from the 15th to the 19th centuries. Each week affords an in-depth study of a single technique: woodcut, engraving, etching, mezzotint, and lithography. We'll explore how these reproductive technologies changed the history of art, and the world, facilitating the unprecedented spread of images and ideas across the globe.
