SVM - SRUC Farm Animal Post Mortem Service
The School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) together with SRUC Ayr Disease Surveillance Centre are pleased to offer a dedicated farm animal post mortem service to allow farmers within closer range to Glasgow to be able to access SRUC veterinary diagnostic services.
Cattle and sheep of all ages and aborted material can be submitted for post mortem examination at the SVM. Please contact us for further information.
Farmers are required to arrange transport of cases. For charges please refer to the SRUC Farm Animal Price List.
During University closure days (see list here) we will be unable to accept cases.
Farmers wishing to use this service should contact their own veterinary practice in the first instance.
The referring veterinary practice should then request an SRUC farm animal post mortem examination by calling 0141 330 5999, providing details of the farm and a brief history of the case.
Farmers are required to arrange transport of cases. The PM room is located within the School of Veterinary Medicine, 464 Bearsden road, Glasgow.
For sat-nav purposes use the following post-code: G61 1BD and report to security for directions to the PM room.
