Sam graduated with distinction from the University of Bristol in 2013 after completing his veterinary degree and an intercalated degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare there. Following graduation, he spent two enjoyable years working in a busy, first-opinion practice on the Somerset/Wiltshire border. During this time, he developed a strong interest in small animal internal medicine and emergency and critical care. Sam returned to Bristol in 2015 to undertake a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery. He joined Glasgow University Small Animal Hospital in September 2016 as the Medicine Intern before starting a Residency in March 2017.
