Catherine Lefèvre is a historian who researches and writes about East–West relations during the Cold War, with a focus on the link between politics and finance, as well as the role of creditor countries in the development of financial crises.

Before taking on her current role as a Lecturer in Contemporary Economic History, she was a Max Weber fellow at the European University Institute (EUI). Prior to this, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow on the EURECON project, and as an Associate Lecturer in Economic and Social History.
