The John Smith Centre is pleased to welcome the former Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer the Rt Hon. Ed Balls to the University of Glasgow for a careers talk and employability Q&A, chaired by Centre Director Kezia Dugdale.

Ed will draw upon his years of experience to chat to students about life at the highest level of politics and public service, and discuss his career journey from university graduate to senior politician and beyond. Students will also hear about the challenges he has faced and overcome along the way, and there will be ample opportunity for questions about his wide-ranging career.

Prior to the careers talk, current and former John Smith Centre parliamentary interns will also take part in a networking event with Ed, who is a Centre Board member.
