Continuing professional development (CPD) in Urban Studies

Continuing professional development (CPD) in Urban Studies

Urban Studies is one of the UK’s foremost centres for teaching and research in public policy, housing, planning and regeneration. We run a range of postgraduate programmes in professional education, with validation from three professional bodies (the RTPI, RICS and CIH).

Integrated with these degree programmes, we offer a series of two and four day CPD courses in public policy, housing, planning and regeneration, aimed at professionals from across the UK. Participants can expect:

  • lectures by academics who are active researchers in their field
  • contributions by senior practitioners
  • small-group discussions.

We aim to help students bring insights from academic theory and research into their work, responding to the issues they face and building on their experiences as practitioners and policy makers.

Participants in CPD courses can convert these into credits which count towards Masters degrees or other postgraduate qualifications (by enrolling as a student and completing an associated assignment). Credits can be built up into a degree over a five-year period, offering a very flexible route to a professional postgraduate qualification.
