Staff Survey 2019


In the School & Institute, we are committed to fostering an equal, diverse and inclusive working environment for all people working or learning with us. Our success in achieving this goal critically depends on receiving constructive inputs from those working and learning within the SoP & INP. One area that we are focusing on currently is gender equality in higher education and research.

In the upcoming Staff Survey 2019 we would therefore like to invite staff members to tell us about their experiences of working within the School & Institute, particularly with respect to gender equality. We will use this data to evaluate the previous actions that we have taken during our Athena SWAN (AS) Bronze award, and to inform new strategies for our Silver award application.

The mission of Athena SWAN is to address gender inequality in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine) and AHSSBL (arts, humanities, social sciences, business, law) subjects. Our aim is to improve the working environment & opportunities for the career development of all staff. Your views are critical to our success in achieving this goal.

Staff Survey 2015 

The Athena SWAN Staff Survey 2015, was designed to collect staff perceptions of their working environment within the School & Institute. 

72% (92/127) of all staff within the School and Institute completed the survey and the results were invaluable for the creation of the Athena SWAN Action Plan.  The Athena SWAN Team used the Action Plan and results of the Staff Survey to drive and develop the initiatives of the application.
