The Detector Development Group

The Detector Development group works within the Experimental Physics Group at the University of Glasgow to develop novel radiation detection devices, for use both within high energy particle physics and other applications. The group is composed of experimental particle physicists and dedicated detector device specialists.

The group carries out R&D in the following areas:

Active Pixel Sensors

The ATLAS Semiconductor Tracker (SCT)

Czochralski Silicon Radiation Detectors

The LHCb Vertex Locator (VELO)

Wide Bandgap Material Research

Photon Counting Systems
