On Saturday 28th November SMLC hosted, in collaboration with Scotland's National Centre for Languages (SCILT), a study day for Modern Languages pupils from schools all over Scotland.

On Saturday 28th November, the SMLC hosted, in collaboration with SCILT, a study day for Modern Languages pupils from schools all over Scotland. We were delighted to welcome almost 80 pupils from near and far into a virtual University of Glasgow classroom to talk through what it's like to study languages at Glasgow, and to share tips and advice with pupils ahead of their Higher and Advanced Higher assessments. Thanks go to SCILT, our Junior Honours students Mairi Ertz and Mhairi Mackay for their presentation, and colleagues Professor Stephen Forcer (Head of School), Dr Sheila Dickson (German), Dr Eamon McCarthy (Hispanic Studies) and Dr Magda Kampert (Translation Studies and Italian) for their input on the day. The event was co-organised by Dr Elizabeth Geary Keohane (French), and Lisa Hanna from SCILT.
