School of Life Sciences professor Paul M. Rea has released his first ever application software with the award-winning technology company 3D4Medical.

Specialising in medical, educational and health and fitness software for student/patient education, 3D4Medical is on the world's most advanced 3D anatomy platform.

The app, entitled Emergency Medicine and Trauma - Common Clinical Scenarios, enables the user to explore, in-depth, the applied clinically relevant anatomy of the trauma setting, and learn and consolidate knowledge related to the ABCDE of initial patient assessment.

Relating anatomy to a clinically based scenario typical to present to an accident and emergency unit, it also allows the user to learn about applied anatomy of the airway, breathing, circulation, disability and exposure which are crucial steps in assessment of a critically ill patient.

As well as advanced 3D digital anatomical models, the software features a comprehensive quiz section to enable the user to test their knowledge as they proceed through the package.
