Night at the Museum of Anatomy - Past, Present and Future

The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, the University of Glasgow’s Anatomy Facility and the School of Simulation and Visualisation have joined forces to host a one-off, special event in this unique setting. 

Night at the Museum of Anatomy - Past, Present and Future is an exciting public engagement experience (for adults only), which will take place on Thursday 27 September at the University of Glasgow’s Museum of Anatomy. 

Hosted by Dr Paul Rea and Professor Fabio Quondamatteo of the Anatomy Facility, the evening will consist of a range of demonstrations, displays and interactives showing how we have visualised, studied and taught human anatomy over the centuries, from William Hunter in the 18th Century, to the latest in modern digital visualisation.  

Attendees will be invited to participate in anatomical body painting, augmented reality and virtual reality simulations, with a variety of stands to explore including: 

  • Hunter and Cleland specimens
  •  William Macewen – Innovation in surgery 
  • Plastination 
  • Surgical advances 
  • Visualising Medical Heritage project
  •  Anatomical Body Painting  
  • Medical Visualisation and Human Anatomy
