At the beginning of September, Professor Kevin O'Dell, Dr David Bhella (Centre for Virus Research) and Dr Sharon Macnab (Glasgow Science Centre) hosted the ‘Applications of DNA: Human Biology Workshops’.

Over six days, 600 S5/6 students, some from as far away as Plockton in the Highlands, gained hands-on experience of molecular techniques, engaged in discussions on ethics and received career advice. The highly-successful event has now been running for over ten years.

The organisers are grateful for support from Thermo-Fisher and Glasgow City Council.
