Who is Summer School for?

Summer School is suitable if you have had a break in your studies, for example if you are returning to education after working or having children. It’s also a great way for school or college-leavers to make a smooth transition to university. Summer School applicants should be aiming to enrol on a degree programme in Environmental Science & Sustainability or Health & Social Sector Leadership. Successful completion of Summer School can help you gain entry to either of these degrees.

In Health & Social Sector Leadership you will learn about the nature of health; community assets and how they can promote wellbeing; as well as what causes the huge health inequalities we see in Scotland.

In Environmental Science & Sustainability you will study topics such as the pros and cons of renewable energy sources, and the impacts of global environmental issues such as climate change.

Why consider Summer School?

Students who complete Summer School develop the confidence and academic skills to really excel at university. It offers a head start, preparing you for the challenges of higher education.

Successful completion of the Summer School can help you gain entry to either the Environmental Science & Sustainability or Health & Social Sector Leadership undergraduate degrees.

What does it cost?

This Summer School is free; there is no tuition fee.
