  • Research Fellow (History)

Research interests

My research focuses on three, inter-linked themes in the history of late medieval/early modern Ireland and Britain:

  • Exploring the resurgence of the Gaelic-speaking nobility in Ireland and Scotland, c.1250-c.1520
  • Ireland's changing relationship with Scotland c.1150-c.1600
  • How developments in these western regions impacted an impinged upon English, Scottish, and ultimately 'British' affairs from the late twelfth century down to the reign of James I and VI
