Research title: The Practice of Exemption in Late Medieval England
Research Summary
I am interested in the history of the Military-Religious Orders (Templars and Hospitallers) in England, with specific reference to how they interacted with, and formed part of, the wider polity. I am equally fascinated by the broader subjects of legal and administrative history, the nature of the polity, concepts of kingship and lordship and the phenomena of power and authority.
