Spring Seminar Series: 'Audiences of Political Oratory'

After the success of the Autumn seminar series, the Network for Oratory and Politics is pleased to invite you to join us in Glasgow for another seminar series in the new year. The theme of this series will be 'Audiences of Political Oratory.'

Professor Christopher Reid, Professor of Rhetoric in the Department of English (Queen Mary, University of London) will be giving a talk entitled 'Speaking to the World? Parliamentary oratory and its audiences in the eighteenth century.'

Monday 22nd February, 5pm

Drew Smith, local politician and MSP for Glasgow will be speaking on audiences for political oratory from the perspective of a politician and how to tailor communication to various types of audiences, not only through speech but also through social media.

Wednesday 2nd March, 5pm

Ewan Crawford (University of the West of Scotland) former print a broadcast journalist will be speaking on audiences for political oratory from the perspectives of speech-writer, political journalist and academic.
