Biography
Prior to joining the University, I worked in the third sector in both digital specialist and management positions.
As Operations Lead, I work closely with my senior management team and professional services colleagues to manage operational and research support activities for the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit. As Communications Manager, I am responsible for strategically developing and co-ordinating a range of communications activities across all channels and media, print and digital, for both the Unit and its externally funded projects.
From 2019 to 2021, I chaired the School of Health and Wellbeing's Athena SWAN group for Professional Services staff. In 2019/20 I attended Aurora, a women-only leadership programme run by Advance HE to develop higher education leaders of the future. In 2022, I became one of six UofG colleagues to be selected to study for an ILM Level 5 Certificate in Effective Coaching and Mentoring ('UofG Coaching Pilot').
I have been leading communications for large externally-funded research networks and consortia, including TRIUMPH (UKRI), PHASE (UKPRP) and SIPHER (UKPRP). I am particularly interested in participatory methods and have experience in facilitating design-led workshops.
On top of driving various communications strategies and plans, I also love working on creative projects - whether it be filming and editing video, animating, illustrating or building websites. I am an Adobe Certified Associate in Illustrator, and proficient in Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign and Photoshop.
