Biography
Simon Barrett graduated from the University of Salford in 2013 with a 1st Class BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health and the following year completed an MSc in Environmental and Public Health, graduating with a Distinction. Previous areas of research have included the mental and physical health impacts of pest infestations; mental health inequalities; and the evaluation of community drug and alcohol recovery services in Manchester. Simon joined the MRC/CSO Social Public Health Sciences Unit in 2015 to undertake a 1+3 PhD, looking at the intergenerational transmission of parenting as part of the THRIVE Trial. Simon’s work is supervised by Dr Katie Buston and Dr Marion Henderson.
