Polymer quality control
Cast plastic objects and polymers can have micro-scale flaws. The X-CT is the perfect way to image such flaws in plastic objects.

Top and bottom, the reconstruction of a polymer artefact from the Catapult project. Considering the rather large dimension of the object (30 cm tall), which was scanned in entirety, the voxel size is 40 micrometres. At this resolution, lots of textural features in plastic can be seen. Equivalent imaging can be done for electronic components, ceramics or glass.
