A delegation of 6 undergraduate students from the Interdisciplinary Division of Biomedical Engineering (BME) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, accompanied by 2 faculty members, visited the School of Engineering on the 10th of March 2017 to discuss potential collaboration both in research and teaching activities.
The students started the day with a very enthusiastic presentation of Hong Kong and their university to members of staff of the School of Engineering. This was followed by presentations from both institutions on activities in research and teaching in the field of Biomedical Engineering, which sparked varied and fruitful discussions.
The delegation was provided with a tour of facilities of the School of Engineering, provided by Dr. Huabing Ying, who also organised the visit, and Professor Liz Tanner (picture below).
The group reconvened for lunch and was joined by current students on the Biomedical Engineering degree programme, together with Professor Jon Cooper (Wolfson Chair of Bioengineering and Vice Principal for Knowledge Exchange and Innovation).
The participants will now explore practical ways in which to bring the two organisations together, from students exchanges to research visits for example.
