Mr James Gulgecer

James is a research assistant at the University of Glasgow. He is working on the British Academy project Precarious Work and Future Careers (PWFC) that is assessing whether precarious work leads to later secure careers in China and South Africa. His research interests centre on youth studies with a focus on precarious forms of employment; under/unemployment; education, skills and training; and the impact of labour market policies on education to work transitions and early career experiences. James is also a third-year PhD student and his thesis is titled "The impact of labour market policies on young people's education to employment pathways and early career experiences in Glasgow and Liverpool".
