Keynote Address at Beijing Normal University
Professor Margaret Sutherland and Dr Ines Alves have been invited to give a keynote address at an international conference being hosted by Beijing Normal University (BNU), China. The conference theme is Development and Innovation of Special Education in the New Era. Margaret and Ines will share a European perspective on inclusive education.
They will draw on current research in the field and on their work with teachers studying for the Masters in Inclusive Education here at Glasgow. This invite consolidates and develops long standing links with BNU in the field of inclusive education.
Margaret has given several lectures when visiting BNU and was key in developing the University of Glasgow Memorandum of Understanding that was signed between the two institutions. She said “a delegation from BNU Department of Special Education was due to visit Glasgow in 2020, but for obvious reasons this was put on hold. We’re delighted that our collaboration and discussions have continued in spite of the pandemic, and Ines and I are honoured to have been invited to give this keynote address”.
