Social Justice in Austere Times

Featuring Emeritus Professor Bob Lingard (University of Queensland) speaking on the global policy environment and shifting treatments of social justice amidst other priorities.

Other speakers include:

Dr Sinead Gormally, (University of Glasgow) on communities’ capacity to cope under these policy settings.

Dr Robert Doherty, (University of Glasgow) on the local politics of educational policy.

Dr Jacqueline Purdie, (Headteacher–in-Residence, University of Glasgow) on how schools are experiencing and navigating the contemporary policy landscape.

 

Dr Bob Lingard is an Emeritus Professor at The University of Queensland and a Professorial Fellow at the Australian Catholic University. He has published widely in the sociology of education. His most recent book is Globalizing Educational Accountabilities (Routledge, 2016). He is also Editor of the journal, Discourse: Studies in the Cultural Politics of Education and of the Routledge, New York, book series, Key Ideas and Education.
