All applicants are required to undertake the UKCAT test in the year of application, please visit the UKCAT website for more information www.ukcat.ac.uk.  All applicants will be ranked on the basis of their UKCAT score, the percentile cut-off point varies from year to year and is not release by the Dental School during the application cycle

3. Do you accept resits?
No, qualifications have to be obtained at the first sitting; we are unable to consider applications based on retaken examinations.

4. Do you consider re-applications?
From admission in September 2017 onwards, we will accept reapplications

5. Can I apply for Deferred Entry?
Applications for deferred entry will not be considered.

6. Do you accept applications from graduates?
The Dental School considers applications from graduates who have the equivalent of a 2.1 honours degree in a relevant subject and will ask that they demonstrate the equivalence of Chemistry and Biology (Grade A, A Level/Higher) and Maths or Physics (Grade B, GCES/Higher), obtained within the last 6 years.

7. Do you consider transfers?
The Dental School has a strict policy of not considering applications from students already studying at another Institution, either to transfer into the course or to restart 1st year.

Yes. Please note that, under current Scottish Government regulations, international students must leave the country on completion of the BDS 5 year programme and not remain in the UK for further training.

9. How many places do you have for students from the Rest of the UK?

The Scottish Funding Council sets the number of places for controlled subjects, like Dentistry. We expect to have the same number of places for entry in September 2016
