Usually, we'd be enjoying the hospitality of the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum as they host us for our annual conference. Despite not being able to achieve this for 2021, we're still bringing you the Burns Scotland lecture which is the showpiece of our programme.

Introduced by Dr Pauline Mackay (Lecturer in Robert Burns Studies, CRBS) and Chris Waddell (Learning Manager, NTS Robert Burns Birthplace Museum), the lecture is delivered by with Dr David Hopes (Head of Collections and Interiors, NTS). Entitled 'Birth of a Museum: The Burns Monument Trust and the formation of Scotland’s first literary museum (1814-1900)’, David's lecture gives a fascinating insight into the origins of the Alloway site that still sees hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. The lecture is now available to view online through the link above.

To complement the lecture, David will be joined by Pauline and Chris for a live Q&A session on Sunday 24th January 2021 at 6.30pm GMT. Tickets for this can be reserved through the Eventbrite link above.
