‘The Connection between seeing and writing’: Tracing the affinities between William Blake and Virginia Woolf

This research considers Woolf’s late testimony of an aesthetic philosophy, articulated in her phrase ‘connection between seeing and writing’, for what it can tell us about the cultivation of Woolf’s imaginative and creative practice. Specific attention is paid to William Blake due to the intense combination of visual and verbal artistic media in his work.
