Research title: Play/writing histories: Navigating the Personal, Public and Institutional stories of theatre space: An Architextural study of the Citizens Theatre.
Research Summary
My Practice-as Research study seeks to develop a methodology for architexting – a mode of playwriting that reveals hidden histories of sites by exploring the dramaturgy of their architecture through text. I propose that playwriting can be utilised in this way as a tool for historiography. My subject site is the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow, and in particular its non-performance spaces.
