Plastic arts and ECOaction: New Masters Studentship

Mia Reagan‘Plastic arts and ECOaction through Education’ is the title of a new Masters Studentship recently funded by the Scottish Funding Council Global Challenges Research Fund, and awarded to Ugandan artist Reagan Kandole. Reagan has been working with plastic waste materials and participatory art practice in Kampala for the past ten years with his organisation ECOaction, and more recently with the Sustainable Futures in Africa Network.

Through this studentship, Reagan will undertake an MSc in Educational Studies in Adult, Community & Youth Contexts at the University of Glasgow and design and develop a participatory arts research project sited both in Glasgow and Kampala on the matter of plastic waste, awareness and education. His project will be supported by Dr Mia Perry (School of Education) and Dr Cristina Delgado-García (Theatre Studies) as lead and second supervisor respectively.
