During semester 2, a group of sixteen music students enjoyed taking part in a ‘Grade-1-Athon’ to fundraise for Sistema Scotland. It was organised by first year BMus student Verity Beards-Jones, and everyone involved fundraised by being sponsored to learn a new instrument and take the Grade 1 exam on Wednesday 1st May.

The exams went well and results will be back soon, but we are proud to say they raised £1970.67 for Sistema Scotland’s ‘Big Noise’ Project, which uses music as a medium to create social change in some of Scotland’s most deprived areas.  A fun and entertaining showcase concert held on 30th April raised £97 of the total amount, from entry and bake sale donations.
