What will it cover: This is your first chance to meet the programme convenors and your future classmates. This informal introduction aims to give you a flavour of the programme before a more formal introduction which will take place later in the week. Details will be given at this initial meeting.

Attendance: PGT students - recommended. This is for all students registered for the Art, Politics, Transgression MLitt. Although attendance is not compulsory we strongly recommend that you attend, if you are available. Unfortunately, this cannot be rescheduled. What will it cover: The programme induction will be a chance for you to meet your fellow students on the Dress and Textile Histories programme, and the programme convenor (Sally Tuckett). We will go over the programme structure and expectations for it, discuss core and optional courses, and there will be a chance to raise any general questions that you might have.

What will it cover:  The induction will clarify the structure and expectations of the programme, and will provide you with the opportunity to meet the programme convenor (Dr Debra Strickland), other members of the teaching staff, and your student colleagues. What will it cover: This induction meeting will present an overview of the three PGT programmes, and is the first opportunity for all students to meet their programme convenors, other staff teaching on the programmes, and each other. The induction will cover the programme structure, requirements, aims and objectives. It will cover all the core courses, option courses, timetable, reading lists, virtual online learning environment, and answer any questions students might have about the programmes. It will also provide more information about facilities and resources available to students on the programme. 

Attendance: This induction session is compulsory for all new students on the MLitt in Film and Television Studies, MSc in Film Curation and MSc in Filmmaking and Media Arts.

Preparation required: Students should have started registration and have registered for the core courses on their programmes. The optional courses available will be discussed during the induction and students can make their choices after this induction meeting. What will it cover: Following the welcome in University Gardens for all students in History of Art, we will move to the Centre for Textile Conservation and Technical Art History in the Robertson Building where you will meet your fellow students and the programme teaching staff, receive a general introduction to the programme and tour the teaching facilities.

Attendance: This is for all students registered for MPhil Textile Conservation.

Preparation required: Please have started registration.  If you have any problems, they can be resolved once you are in Glasgow.  Please note that all the MPhil Textile Conservation courses are core courses.

What will it cover: This will be an introduction to postgraduate study in the History of Art subject area and the School of Culture and Creative Arts at Glasgow.  It will be followed by a welcome wine reception in the foyer of 8 University Gardens.

Attendance: This is for all taught postgraduate students starting a postgraduate taught programme in History of Art.

Time: 2pm - 5pm (Including Subject Induction)

What will it cover: This is your first chance to meet the course convenor (Simon Murray) and your future classmates.  The induction will look at the structure and expectations of the course.  We will cover the core courses, option courses, timetable, reading lists, the virtual online learning environment and hopefully answer any other questions you may have about the course.

Attendance: This is for all students registered for the MLitt Theatre Practices.

Preparation required: Please have started registration.  You do not have to have completed academic registration at this stage, as we will discuss the Core and Optional choices available.
