Professor Christopher Loughrey and Professor Matthew Walters appointed College International Deans
MVLS takes great pride in its vibrant international student population. Benefits include cultural diversity, global connectivity, and enhanced teaching/research excellence. Continued growth of the international student population within MVLS is key to ensuring our future sustainability and commitment to address global challenges through world-leading research, innovation and education.
In March, Christopher Loughrey and Matthew Walters were appointed to the newly formed position of College International Dean (CID) for a 12-month term. The newly formed position of CID enables a renewed focus on College international student recruitment. The priority for the CIDs over the next 12 months is to work within the context of the University’s Internationalisation Strategy to identify new global markets for MVLS programmes where international PG students can be recruited, maintain/grow existing markets and to pursue new international collaborations for MVLS with leading research-intensive Universities. The CIDs firmly believe in the importance of supporting our international students within MVLS and look forward to working with staff and students to promote the broad range of outstanding research and educational expertise in our College.
