New paper from Dr Ruth Mackenzie and Dr Jennifer Logue about the development of a core outcome set for adult behavioural weight management programmes

Dr Ruth Mackenzie and Dr Jennifer Logue have published a paper in Obesity Reviews reporting the development of a core outcome set for adult behavioural weight management programmes.

Their paper was published in Obesity Reviews in February 2020 (below)

"Core outcome set for behavioural weight management interventions for adults with overweight and obesity: Standardised reporting of lifestyle weight management interventions to aid evaluation (STAR-LITE)"

The core outcome set will ensure consistency of reporting, allowing behavioural weight management interventions to be compared. This, in turn, will reveal which interventions work best for which members of the population and inform future intervention development.

The study has been widely reported in the press and results shared with Public Health England and Health Scotland who plan to incorporate the work into their weight management evaluation guidance.
