I‌CAMS Dr Paddy Mark took part in a roundtable discussion on renal regenerative medicine at the Scottish Parliament on 25th April 2018 with MSPs Fulton MacGregor, Lewis MacDonald and Richard Lyle. Also present where representatives from Chief Scientist Office, Kidney Research UK, Edinburgh University and patient representatives. The goal of the meeting was to discuss a long-term strategy to treat prevent kidney disease with the Scottish Government. It might take a while, but the discussion was rewarding, and all present felt the profile of kidney disease as a health research priority will be raised over the next few years.
